Aloha! My husband and I will be traveling to Puerto Rico for work from May 15 to June 30 (or possibly the first week of July) and are wondering if there might be someone interested in watching our pup, Tia. Our girl is a dear, sweet, 6 lb pup, chihuahua mix, who will not be able to travel with us, unfortunately. Tia is a rescue pup who joined our family about 1.5 years ago. She's a senior (estimated to be about 12 years old), and she is blind (both eyes have been removed d/t glaucoma). She is sweet, obedient, and usually quiet (she does bark when she hears someone coming or going from the house), and she is so resilient! She doesn't go for walks, but does like to take a ride in the wagon, doesn't "play," really, and she isn't a lap dog. She simply likes to be in the same room with her people, inside or out, where she can rest, lay in the sun, or have a treat. And she does love a good belly rub! She does sometimes get into obsessive scratching at the carpet but can be easily redirected and has occasionally gone potty inside. Her veterinarian is in Ewa Beach. She warms to new people quickly.
I don't have any "special skills" to share but would be happy to exchange for any way I can help in return (cooking, transportation, errands, etc.).
